Song Upload Quality Guidelines

To keep the underground metal scene sounding its best, all uploads to ORE.FM must meet these basic quality standards. Submissions that don’t meet the criteria may be rejected until updated versions are provided.

1. Audio Format & Specs

  • Accepted Formats: MP3 (320 kbps preferred), WAV, FLAC

  • Sample Rate: Minimum 44.1 kHz

  • Bit Depth: Minimum 16-bit

  • Stereo Mix: Must be properly mixed in stereo (no mono or heavily unbalanced panning)

  • File Size Limit: Max 100 MB per track

2. Mixing & Mastering Quality

  • Balanced Mix: Vocals, instruments, and drums should be clearly audible without one overpowering the others.

  • No Clipping or Distortion: Avoid peaking, over-compression, or digital distortion (unless intentional for artistic effect).

  • Consistent Loudness: Target around -14 LUFS integrated for streaming; dynamic range is encouraged but avoid extreme quietness.

  • Mastered for Streaming: Ensure the track is normalized for typical streaming loudness levels.

3. Musical & Artistic Standards

  • Completed Recordings Only: No demos, practice room takes, or incomplete mixes.

  • Intentional Style: Raw, lo-fi, or experimental production is fine if it’s clearly stylistic — not due to poor recording quality.

  • Genre Fit: Track should align with ORE.FM’s focus on metal and sub-genres (death, doom, thrash, black, grind, etc.).

  • Originality: Covers are allowed only if properly licensed or clearly credited.

4. Submission Review Process

All uploads are subject to ORE.FM’s review process:

  • Tracks are checked for technical quality and compliance with the above.

  • Bands may receive feedback or requests for resubmission if audio issues are found.

  • Repeated low-quality or infringing submissions may lead to temporary upload suspension.
